One of the many things that flashes through my mind on a regular basis is what on earth am I doing with my life? How is what I am doing right now making my life worthwhile? This can’t be a question that only I ask myself. Along with many other, often anxious, ponderings that occupy my mind, it always stimulates me into thinking a little deeper.
I can’t help but think we so often separate our work lives from our “regular day to day” lives. Why do we do this? Do we see work as a means to be able to live the life we would like? Given that work takes up about 40 hours of your week, often much, much more. Shouldn’t we look to make that time count given that time essentially is our only true asset and will do nothing but diminish.
As a business owner you have the opportunity to make that time valuable for your employees. Empower them, encourage them and believe in them. Never underestimate the value in making your team members feel like their time is worth something. They will pay you back tenfold and then some.
Lets face it we are all living with the human condition and we all know what it is like, the ups, the downs, the pleasure and the heartache. You as a business owner have the power within you to make someone’s human experience count. By doing this you not only enrich another person’s life you will see returns in their work that you wouldn’t believe.
